Carriers operating vehicles with a combined weight over 26,000 pounds may have to file a highway-use tax bond, substitute security, or cash deposit to insure payment of fees, taxes, charges, or penalties incurred while operating in Oregon. If required, the amount varies by the type of motor carrier operation, the annual tax liability, and the number of vehicles registered.
